Just behind the ring road is a hidden piece of nature; the NoorderIJplas. Here you can enjoy a stroll with the lakes full of water birds on one side and the North Sea Canal where large boats sail on the other. You might even run into the Scottish Highlanders.

The NDSM wharf is a rugged, adventurous and iconic area on the IJ. Here you will not only find the ferry that takes you to the center; there are many restaurants, street art, artists, creative companies. Numerous events are organized on ‘the wharf’, including the monthly flea market.
